This achievement validates the compliance of GAN’s Information Security Management System (ISMS) within the scope of “the development and maintenance of GAN Sports Core Sportsbook platform targeting the B2B market” to the highest international information security standards.
The President & CEO of GAN Limited (NASDAQ: GAN), Dermot S. Smurfit, stated, “Bringing the best in sports betting technology and essential sportsbook trading capability to the U.S. has remained at the heart of our corporate strategy since November 2020. However, bringing these cutting-edge capabilities to our B2B clients in the U.S. is impossible without equally state-of-the-art information security management in an always-on, Internet-enabled world that carries many operational risks. Therefore, GAN is extremely proud to receive the award of our ISO 27001 certification for trading and risk management, and I’ll take the opportunity to congratulate Charles K Onochie, our VP of Information Security, and his global team of specialists.”
Over the last two years, the Company has worked tirelessly to meet the strictest security requirements in the industry. GAN Sports was subjected to a series of rigorous tests by an expert independent third-party auditor to determine the robustness of the ISMS underpinning the platform. The in-depth review found these practices to be of the highest security standards set by the International Organisation for Standardisation and the International Electrotechnical Commission (ISO/IEC). These efforts culminated in the achievement of the ISO/IEC 27001:2013 certification. This is a recognition of GAN’s commitment to the highest level of information security management.
GAN’s Vice President of Global Information Security, Charles Onochie, added, “This certification attests to our commitment to keeping the highest security standards and best practices. In addition, it is a testament to the fact that we take the security of our client’s business and customer information seriously, and we are committed to providing the most secure gaming platform in the industry. Our goal is for our clients to sleep easily at night, assured that their business is safe with us.”
The CTO of GAN, Jan Roos, stated, "This is a validation of quality. This certificate will support our compliance efforts in the acquisition of new licenses. In addition, it assures our regulators that most of their requirements are already met.”
ISO 27001 certification is globally recognized as the highest and most reputable standard an organization can achieve regarding security and data protection. The certification was issued by the British Standards Institute (BSI), an independent, well-reputed certification body that performed the ISO 27001 certification audits and endorsed GAN trading and risk management as having all the required policies, procedures, and processes in place to protect from unauthorized access or compromise, and that these policies and processes are operational and effective enough to meet the high standards set by ISO/IEC. Also, GAN Sports employees are suitably trained, knowledgeable, and capable of designing, implementing, and maintaining security best practices necessary to meet or exceed compliance with ISO 27001 Standards.
